Four-time World Champion Katie Taylor will fight for Olympic gold on Thursday following her semi-final win over Mavzuna Chorieva.
Taylor will now face Russian Sofya Ochigava in the gold medal fight and bookmakers
Paddy Power have installed her a heavy odds-on favourite at 1/14 to win the gold.
The 26-year-old Bray boxer produced another classy performance to win her semi-final 17-9 on points over Mavzuna Chorieva. Russian boxer Ochigava who has been priced by
Paddy Power at 7/1 to cause an upset, won her semi-final 17-11 against Adriana Araujo.
Taylor has already beaten her Russian opponent 11-7 in the World Championships earlier this year and Irish fans will be hoping for a repeat performance on Thursday.
Taylor told the press afterwards: "It is incredible. This is a dream come true for me.
"To be boxing in front of so many Irish fans, it is better than I thought it could be. I feel like I am in heaven right now, it is amazing.
"It is going to be a 50-50 fight in the final, the pressure is always going to be on both boxers as we are both boxing for gold. I have to go back, refocus for tomorrow and I would love to bring gold back for my country."
Paddy Power are also offering a money-back special on the fight whereby if your boxer loses a fight on a countback, they will refund all losing match bets on that fight!
