LiveSport.ie took a look at all the races today with the hope of picking some winners for our readers.
Orions Hero took a forward step when finishing a nose second over this trip at Ayr in August and is entitled to be thereabouts but, with the advantage of a lower draw, preference is for UNKNOWN VILLAIN, who may improve on his debut fourth at Haydock with the benefit of a run now behind him. Roger Varian's newcomer Horsted Keynes wouldn't need to be anything out of the ordinary to finish in the shake-up either.
MUNDAHESH probably bumped into an above-average sort when finishing second in a Kempton maiden last time and wouldn't need to improve much upon that effort to figure prominently here, with this extra furlong expected to elicit improvement from William Haggas' charge. Loucal needs to improve on previous efforts to figure but is respected in a weak affair. Mark Johnston's debutant Declamation may emerge as the main danger, however.
SICUR sets the form standard having earned himself an official rating of 79 for finishing second at Nottingham little under three weeks ago. Luca Cumani's charge is debuting on the all-weather tonight and should take all of the beating if running to anything like his mark in this weaker race. Glory City didn't miss out by much over C&D last time and looks the main danger ahead of Michael Bell's newcomer Common Courtesy.
Final Drive has shown recent signs of life again for John Butler and a return to the winner's enclosure looks a formality this winter. Predicting when is proving difficult, however, and a safer option looks to be AFRAAH, who opened her account in maiden company here last month and starts life in handicaps on an exploitable mark of 78. Lady Macduff has been running consistently on turf and has place claims along with Saharia, who has been raised 5lb for his recent course victory over the extended 1m.
Pearl Noir struggled to land a blow during two previous handicap outings but, now her rating has been dropped for a recent maiden second, she may be capable of getting competitive. Better treated, however, may be WORK ETHIC, who beat the last-named with plenty in hand latest and doesn't look handicapped out of things off an opening perch of 72. The dropped-in-trip Vergality Ridge appeals most of the remainder.
GRACE HULL has improved with each run to date and opened her account when landing a track and trip maiden earlier this month. A resulting mark of 69 seems fair and from a low draw, Stan Moore's charge gets the vote. Buy Art returns from a 133-day break but demonstrated an ability to get his head in front when scoring at Brighton in June. He is nominated as the principal threat, as the consistent Layla's Oasis usually finds one or two too strong.
BEAT THE BELL has been working his way back to form of late and was only narrowly denied by the in-form Ginger Ted at Lingfield last week. He has dropped to a really good mark now and his turn looks near. There may be better to come from Bandstand now he's back on the all-weather, but bigger dangers may be recent course (7f) winner Lucky Dan, who also boasts winning form over this shorter trip, and recent C&D third Hopes N Dreams.
Flamborough Breeze has been campaigned over a variety of distances - even as far as 1m4f at Lingfield in July - and drops back to 6f here to try break her duck at the thirteenth attempt. She clearly has her limitations, so preference is for LUCKY MARK, improving with racing and coming into this on the back of his best effort to date, a good second in a 7f maiden here last time. Yungaburra harbours place possibilities and is another worthy of shortlist inclusion.
