LiveSport.ie took a look at all the races today with the hope of picking some winners for our readers.
There should be more to come from Chepstow winner Jebril but he is faced with a stiff enough opening handicap mark and JUST A POUND is preferred. Jo Hughes' youngster has improved with every start so after finishing a good second at Wolverhampton most recently, and with the promise of more to come, he could well be worth catching switching to nurseries off what looks a feasible rating. Knight's Parade is up 5lb for a Chepstow success but should go well again, along with Run It Twice.
Roman Order is entitled to run well enough but he doesn't set an insurmountable standard for the others to aim at and the two choicely-bred newcomers Sir Frank Morgan and NEWSREADER may be the two to concentrate on. The former boasts a middle-distance pedigree and should improve on whatever he achieves here but his Mahmood Al Zarooni-trained opponent, a son of New Approach, appeals as an early type and his stable have proved very adept at saddling winning juvenile debutants.
CATERINA impressed when opening her account at Folkestone just under two weeks ago and with that confidence-boosting success under her belt, she is expected to progress further and can shrug off a 5lb rise in the weights. Stablemate Duke Of Clarence hasn't been seen since landing his maiden at Kempton back in the spring but he is at the right end of the handicap if returning at the top of his game, with Princess Steph and Uphold also respected.
Rawaafed has put together two solid efforts recently and should make his presence felt again now switched to handicaps, but a decent case can be made for WORDISMYBOND, who returned to form with a ready success at Yarmouth. Despite a 6lb rise in the weights, he still looks well treated and can collect again. Dynamic Duo ran a cracker to finish second at Sandown latest and merits obvious respect again, with Danube River another of interest.
Red Hand would have standout claims if returning to the pick of her form, including when third in a decent handicap at Nottingham in August. However, she was a long way below-par at Kempton recently and with question marks over her now, the safer option might prove to be the consistent CHRISTINGLE. The William Haggas-trained filly has turned in three highly commendable efforts to date, the most recent of which when second at Wolverhampton, and she seems sure to put up another bold bid. The newcomer Gwenelda is feared most of the remainder.
A few in with chances here but a solid case can be made for WINTER HILL, who was far from disgraced in stronger company at Newcastle last time. The Three Valleys filly hasn't raced over this trip since winning at Beverley back in July and eased in grade now, she seems to have plenty in her favour. Imaginary Diva continues to run well but has no margin for error at present so Adventure Story could give the selection more to fear on this occasion.
WELSH BARD came good at the fifth time of asking when a cosy winner at Wolverhampton and now granted this extreme test of stamina, he is expected to double up. Like many from the Sir Mark Prescott stable, staying looks to be his forte and it will be surprising if he isn't rated a good deal higher than his current mark off 66 by the end of the year. Recent winners Wayne Manor and Lucky Diva hold obvious claims, while Salontyre merits respect on his return to action.
An opening figure of 65 doesn't appear overly harsh for Lingfield maiden winner Sushi but a chance is still taken on TIDAL'S BABY. The extended 5f appears sure to suit the Dutch Art gelding and he comes into this in good form following a narrow second over 6f at Kempton. Gladiatrix broke her maiden here and could be capable of better with that confidence-booster under her belt, while any further rain would suit Celestial Dawn.
