Donegal manager Jim McGuinness told the Irish News: "We have an opportunity to do something very special. We have a chance to go back-to-back. No team in Ulster has ever done it from the preliminary round two years in-a-row.
"Our goals are different this year, but the hunger is still exactly the same. It's not as if our players have three All-Ireland medals and five Ulster titles like the Tyrone players. We are coming from a very low base of achievement."
Donegal have come through the Ulster Championship the hard way by defeating Cavan, Derry and Tyrone while Down defeated Fermanagh before beating Monaghan after an incredible comeback.
Down’s Liam Doyle know that Sunday will be a fantastic opportunity for Down to win their first title since 1994 - "Benny Coulter, Dan Gordon and me were in the side that were beaten in that 2003 final by Mickey Harte's team and we have not had a sniff of the Ulster title since then. Sunday represents a big chance for us and we want to make the most of it,"
