Hearts have been fined £60,000 by the Scottish Premier League for their repeatedly poor disciplinary record
The £60,000 fine is a league record, and comes as a result of a continued disregard for SPL warnings and fines. Hearts have been fined every season since 2004/05 for ill discipline, and managed to accumulate a total of ten red cards and eighty-nine yellow cards last season.
Hearts were initially fined £5,000 in the 2004/05 season, and the SPL’s punishments have gotten gradually harsher. Hearts are not the only side to have been forced to pay up, as Aberdeen will pay £5,000 for their disciplinary record, whilst Ayr United and Montrose will have to pay £2,000 and £1,000 respectively.
