Two-time Open winner Padraig Harrington is confident that he has the game to challenge for a third Open Championship at Royal Lytham which starts this Thursday.
The 2007 and 2008 champion has finished in the top ten at both the Masters and the US Open this season and is 18/1 with
bet365 to triumph this week, with Harrington confident that he can challenge for a fourth Major title.
"I'm in good form and I'm in a good enough place that it is about managing where my head is at going into this tournament," Harrington commented.
"That's what you want when you're going into a Major. You don't want to be here searching for your putting stroke or your swing or anything like that."
Harrington is also 5/1 with
bet365 to be the top GB and Ireland finisher, with Ian Poulter 11/1 and Luke Donald 5/1.
Touch on the green is what Harrington hopes will prove to be crucial, adding: "I've been putting better, that's essentially it. I'm playing better too, but the putting really does help.
"It's nice to see the putting has returned in its own shape or form and the rest of the game is pretty solid on top of that.
"So, hopefully, it will be good enough this week to get me across the line."
