Cork face Roscommon on Sunday for a place in the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Senior Championship
Cork go into their quarter-final match with Roscommon as favourites to win, though at this stage of the tournament nothing can be taken for granted. Roscommon surprised many to win this season’s Connacht provincial championship, defeating London, Leitrim and Sligo on the road to glory.
A central factor in Roscommon’s success has been the high scoring exploits of Donie Shine, whose performances have been exceptional so far. Cork will need to contain him in order to meet expectations today. It is expected that Roscommon will name an unchanged side.
Cork bounced back from Munster championship disappointment to work their way into the last eight. Their qualifier wins against Cavan, Wexford and Limerick made it clear that the Rebels are a side to look out for. It should also be noted that they’ve never lost in an All-Ireland quarter-final. Cork are also expected to field the same fifteen that started their last match.
