After two seasons with Chelsea, Deco has completed a move to Brazilian side Fluminense
Deco moved to Chelsea in 2008 for just under £8million, but after two seasons with Chelsea has decided to return to his home nation of Brazil. Deco made his name in Portugal, spending long enough in the country to gain citizenship and play for the Portuguese national team.
Regarding Deco’s move back to Brazil, a statement on the Fluminense website said, “After intense negotiations, the player, who participated in two World Cups for the Portugal national team, got his release from the English club and will sign a two-year contract with the Tricolor. Deco will be officially presented to the press at 12.30 [local time] on Monday”.
Deco becomes the second former Chelsea player to join Fluminense, following in Juliano Belletti’s footsteps.
