Champions League winners Chelsea complete their pre-season tour of the United States with a mouth-watering clash against Serie A giants AC Milan on Saturday.
With the Community Shield clash against Manchester City just two weeks away, this Herbalife World Football Challenge fixture offers Roberto Di Matteo an opportunity to cast an eye over his players against top class opposition ahead of the new campaign.
So far in the States, the Blues have beaten the Seattle Sounders 4-2, drawn 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain and lost 3-2 to the MLS All-Stars.
Massimiliano Allegri’s Milan side meanwhile, opened their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory over Bundesliga outfit Schalke during the week.
Financial troubles have marred Milan's preparations for the new campaign somewhat, forcing them to sell star duo Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thiago Silva to Paris St Germain, while veteran players Filippo Inzaghi, Gennaro Gattuso, Clarence Seedorf and Alessandro Nesta have all been released.
Last season's Serie A runners-up remain formidable opponent nonetheless and their clash with Chelseas promises to be an enthralling affair.
